Here the reasons why I do not support gay marriage:
– In my faith, my God stands against homosexuality.
– Historically when a society is nearing it demise sexuality, not just homosexuality, becomes its focus. See Roman orgies.
– Genetically, homosexuality is an evolutionary dead end. By definition, homosexuals cannot reproduce.
– There is notably higher incident of disease and abuse among homosexual couples.
– Marriage has been defined since the start of time as a relationship between and man and woman.

I’m not trying to spout retroact as so many have before. These are just my personal reasons for not supporting gay marriage.

Historically, the demise of societies is caused by pride, wrath, greed and covetousness. Lust, gluttonly and sloth — which includes the actual acts and the sanctimonious condemnations of them as well — are merely side-effects of that dynamic.

Homosexuals have always been with us and they are a part of our natural ecology because not everyone who can physically reproduce is able to care for the resulting offspring and not everyone who is capable of raising children is able to reproduce. And why should we be concerned about reproduction, anyway? The human population is not exactly dwindling, in case you haven’t noticed.

Sexual orientation is not relevant to the fact that promiscuity spreads disease.

Marriage is indeed a very old institution, but it has not existed since the start of time — or even since the start of humanity. Through the years of history after which the institution of marriage was invented it has had numerous definitions, which includes polygamy. The “relationship between a man and a woman” definition is a fairly new one that has come about as the result of the recent trend toward women being regarded as people rather than property.

You are, of course, entitled to your religious beliefs, but please consider the ramifications of their politicization. There are some very good reasons for the separation between church and state, not the least of which is preventing the corruption of morality that occurs when the state usurps control of faith and conscience from the churches.

Some people believe that the so-called decline of Ameerican civilization began sometime in the 1950s. The phrase, “under God” was inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance in 1953.
