It Might be a War, But it’s Not About Our Culture

Freedom is a frightening prospect for people who lack the fortitude to resist temptations of the flesh…

Forgive my childishness; I’m only nineteen: Ooh, ooh, can it please be about Christians versus non-Christians? That’s just deliciously fun!

Some of the propaganda might make it seem like the so-called “culture” war is Christians versus non-Christians, but these “culture war” controversies are simply not that complicated. They are merely matters of liberty versus tyranny. And we need to make up our minds which it is going to be here in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The culture war is not national. American media and corporations affect morality in all nations. OUr culture does not exist in a bubble, but is a reflection of all those that impact and integrate with it economically, socially, etc. But can there be a universal definition of tyranny? IE: institutionalized oppression of women is actually religious dogma in other nations, but here in the US women stand and fight male dominance. An American’s version of liberty is not the same as an African’s or a Middle Eastern man’s idea of liberty. Maybe the answer is to define tyranny multilaterally, or to incorporate various definitions of free will into your argument?
