Drug-smuggling Puppies?
Prohibition

Unbelievable. Apparently, we must now fight the war on drugs “for the sake of the puppies” because the truth about unregulated drug dealers not asking for ID has successfully been spread and prohibitionists must now avoid using that tired old emotional appeal about waging the drug war for the “sake of the children.”

(CNN) — A two-year investigation into a Colombian heroin ring netted more than 65 pounds of drugs, resulted in the arrests of more than 20 people and saved the lives of some drug-smuggling Labrador retrievers, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said Wednesday.

Two years to interdict 65 pounds of heroin and cocaine, arrest 20 people and save 10 puppies from a life of crime. How much did that cost?

“The organization’s outrageous and heinous smuggling method of implanting heroin inside puppies is a true indication of the extent that drug dealers go to make their profit,” said Special Agent in Charge John Gilbride in a written statement.

Well of course, gangsters go to that extent (and further) to make low-risk, tax-free profits when the opportunities of prohibition encourage them to do so.

Ha, ha! The utter ridiculousness of the puppy defense is a great symbol for the war on drugs in general. I think they should design a puppy mascot for the “war.” Imagine those commercials on television with a giant puppy coming in to talk to kids about how “drugs are bad.” Actually, it’s not so funny when you think about how it could really happen.

  2. It’s Wag The Dog all over again.

  3. why not use a larger animal…more drugs. People will do strange things for money. Interestingly…My last name is Toigo as well…fun to meet a family member online. Ciao

"When they [the Church] have opened a gap in the hedge or wall of separation between the garden of the church and the wilderness of the world, God hath ever broke down the wall itself, removed the Candlestick, etc., and made His Garden a wilderness as it is this day. And that therefore if He will ever please to restore His garden and Paradise again, it must of necessity be walled in peculiarly unto Himself from the world, and all that be saved out of the world are to be transplanted out of the wilderness of the World."
