Sure, there are some people who will believe whatever they see in the media, but I think the politcal blogs' spin and talking points are regurgitations of what those people <i>want</i> to believe. Partisanship -- red or blue -- could be classified as a form of brainwashing, but it seems to me to be more of a reinforcement of it, ideas and ideologies sustained by the natural human need to belong.
