2005 was the most active hurricane season in history and 2006 could very well present similar challenges. Are you hoping for the best, or have you made plans and implemented processes to ensure your company’s survival in the event of a disaster? One thing we should have learned is, “Hope is not a strategy; preparedness is.”

At the very least, all companies should have provisions in place to safeguard their most irreplaceable assets: skilled personnel who perform the work of the business and the data that supports all business activity.

The 2006 Disaster Recovery and Data Protection Summit is a free informational and educational event for business and IT professionals. It will take place May 31 through June 1, at the Tampa Airport Marriott in Tampa, Florida.

This unique event will focus on business continuity requirements of organizations threatened directly or indirectly by hurricanes and tropical storm systems, as well as other disasters Delegate Registrations are still being accepted, but seating is limited.

2006 Disaster Recovery and Data Protection Summit is presented by Florida-based companies: The Data Management Institute, Toigo Partners International and TPI Technologies that have taken the initiative to put together a free event for businesses in areas threatened by hurricanes and other weather events that are likely to impact us this Summer.

  1. Twice in one week?

    Kewl.

As long as the man is upset about stupid Christians (that’s his point, correct?) then let’s keep his directions focused there. Of course, his definition is likely a wee bit different from mine.

I’m being inflammatory to a point, but you’ve got the main points pegged, of course.

Um and I just noticed I posted this underthe hurricalne post.

I am unabashedly unprepared for hurricanes. But then, I live in Arizona. There ARE some wicked dust devils out here, though.

  2. Actually, that was one actual article and one shameless promotion I took almost directly from our press releases.

While he was mainly upset about his fellow Christians being too stupid to differentiate between the ancient Scriptures and a recently released novel and film, he was also concerned about how the film would affect non-Christians’ perceptions of Christianity.

  3. …as if he is just soooo much smarter than everybody else.
