At Just Barking Mad we’ve never excused Foley. What we are saying is that it appears…and CREW’s alteration of Foley’s email is just a part of it…that someone on the Left _knew_ of Foley’s desire for minors and left it unreported. Why? October Surprise.

And we find it interesting that a Public Interest Group such as CREW, funded mostly by Soros foundations and employing a number of former Soros employees is leading the charge at this moment.

We think it is morally reprehensible for such information as the now disclosed IMs to be unreported to the authorities. It appears that it wasn’t Hastert, but rather groups like CREW and certain members of the traditional media that were withholding this information. If Hastert was as well then he, too, should go down like they should.

I’m sure the good people at Just Barking Mad are well aware of how false dichotomies make for rather effective political propaganda.

I don’t think anybody has excused Mr. Foley (well, maybe NAMBLA), but watch out for Democrats and others who might want to spin it that way, i.e., “if you’re not condemning the GOP and campaigning for Democratic candidates, then you must condone Mr. Foley’s behavior.”

I think you’re very likely correct in the assumption that someone on the left knew of Mr. Foley’s proclivities and left them unreported until it would be advantageous to the Democratic Party.

Whether the GOP leadership knew about it and covered it up has yet to be definitively documented and I think they should stand fast unless or until the proverbial “smoking gun” is discovered.

I find all manifestations of partisanship to be morally reprehensible, no matter from which side of the aisle they may originate.

I was surprised to learn that the Democrats actually managed to pull one off on the GOP for once, instead of vise versa. I didn’t think they had it in them.
